Pet-Resistant, No-See-Um and Solar Window Screens
If you keep rescreening the same window, the mesh is probably wrong for how that window gets used. We install heavier and specialty mesh on residential windows and doors.

Pet-resistant screens
Standard fiberglass mesh gives out fast when a dog pushes against it or a cat climbs it. Pet-resistant mesh is a vinyl-coated polyester that's several times stronger and stands up to claws and body weight far better. It's slightly darker than standard screen, which most homeowners barely notice from inside.
We install it on the windows and sliding screen doors your animals actually use — often just the lower panels and the back door — rather than the whole house.
No-see-um screens
Georgia gnats and midges walk straight through standard mesh openings. No-see-um mesh uses a much tighter weave to keep them out. It's the usual recommendation for screened porches, patios and bedroom windows near wooded lots or water. Airflow is somewhat reduced compared to standard screen, which is the trade-off.
Solar and sun screens
West- and south-facing house windows take a lot of afternoon heat. Solar screen mesh blocks a large share of that solar gain and cuts glare before it reaches the glass, while still letting you see out. It also helps protect flooring and furniture from fading. Many homeowners have us install solar mesh only on the sun-facing side of the house and keep standard screen everywhere else.
Choosing between them
We bring mesh samples to your home so you can hold them up to your own window and see the difference in visibility, color and airflow before deciding. Mesh availability and suitability may vary depending on your window type and the project.
